§ 13.16.080. New sewer construction.

  • A.

    Plans and specifications for all proposed new sewers, extensions or additions to present sewers to be installed by persons shall be submitted to and approved by the proper state of Illinois approving authority and the village engineer. The plans and specifications shall be submitted seven days before a permit for construction is granted.

    B.

    A permit fee of ten (10) percent of the consulting engineer's estimated construction cost shall be paid before a permit is granted to cover cost of inspection and approval of plans and specifications.

    C.

    The persons or sewer builders constructing new sewers, extensions or additions shall notify the village engineer when work is ready for inspection. Inspection shall be held prior to the backfilling of trenches. All work and materials found to be defective and not acceptable shall be corrected prior to final inspection and report.

    D.

    Prior to final inspection and acceptance of the sewer improvement, an as-built drawing of ink on cloth, showing plan and profile of all sewers and appurtenances shall be submitted. The drawings shall become the property of the village.
